Our History
The Abriendo Inn at The Walter's Mansion was originally the home of Martin Walter, a German immigrant who came with seven siblings to Appleton, WI between the 1870's and 1880's. On his way to California, Mr. Walter stopped in Pueblo and never returned to the train. He opened the Walter's Brewing Company in Pueblo, in 1889 before building the beautiful blonde brick Walter's mansion in 1906. After his death in California in 1920, his wife kept the house and it remained a private residence until 1989, when it became The Abriendo Inn for the first time. The home remained a bed and breakfast until 2012, when the bank foreclosed and sold it. Separately for four years each, two different businesses operated it as an office building for a combined eight years. In September of 2020, we purchased the property and reopened as The Abriendo Inn in June of 2021. While we own the property, we realize that this home still belongs to the Walter family and we are simply stewards gladly preserving the amazing history of the beautiful home.

11:30 am - 12:30 pm - Lunch at Fuel & Iron Food Hall
12:30 pm - Shop & Explore Pueblo (on your own)
2:30 pm - Peditaxi to Walter's Brewing Company & Tap Room / Brewery Tour, tasting, and swag bag gift & Happy Hour
4:30pm - Peditaxi back to the Inn / freshen up
